Hi, my name is Yuliya.
I am a visual communication designer and artist from Ukraine

I am based in Vancouver Island, British Columbia (Canada). I hold a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Visual Communication Design from the University of Notre Dame (’21) in the U.S.A. While at Notre Dame I was a Fulbright scholar and Edmund S. Muskie program fellow. I also hold a Master’s in Management from Kyiv National Economic University.

My design career began in 2010. Since then my work has grown to encompass editorial design, information design, packaging, branding, collaging, and motion design. While in Ukraine, I worked with some of the largest publishing houses in the country and an array of Ukrainian-based NGOs, as well as the United Nations in Ukraine.

My current work focuses on the visualization of the complex history and heritage of Ukraine and Eastern Europe. It has been exhibited in the U.S.A., Canada, Germany, South Africa, Georgia and Ukraine. My short film My Name Is Eugenia Sakevych Dallas was awarded the Walter Beardsley Award for best MFA thesis exhibition by the University of Notre Dame. I have extensive experience teaching bachelor’s level visual communication design and design software courses.
